ISHWI OMAKASE

At Ishwi Omakase, food is a journey, not just sustenance. Inspired by the Náhuat word for “satiating yourself through food,” our experience blends flavors and stories into dishes that nourish both body and soul.

Nestled in the ancestral fishing village of Mizata, Ishwi Omakase honors the Náhuat people and their profound connection to the ocean. Each plate, crafted by Chef Gerardo Cornejo with fresh, local ingredients, reflects this rich heritage and tells a story of harmony with nature.

What is an omakase?

An omakase restaurant offers a unique dining experience where the chef selects and prepares a series of dishes for the customer. The word "omakase" means "I'll leave it up to you" in Japanese, reflecting the trust placed in the chef's expertise and creativity. Typically, these meals feature fresh, seasonal ingredients and can include sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese delicacies. Each dish is presented one at a time, allowing the diner to savor and appreciate the flavors and craftsmanship.
