This powerful right hander sits at the mouth of the river. Surfable from waist high to well overhead. Best at low to medium tides, with mild reverb during high tide. Fast punchy drops, with large open faces that go for 200 meters. Get covered up on larger days with short barrel sections. Avoid the tempting left as it dumps into shallow rocks at low tide. One of the few sick left breaks in El Salvador, Tweeners, is an epic rock bottom A-Frame that peels both ways. It works well at Medium and High Tide and holds size, with fun barrel sections during overhead swell. In front of the resort.
Thumping beach breaks work well during high tide with overhead barrel sections, rights and lefts. Take caution at low tide to avoid exposed rocks and a mild rip. Two minute walk from the resort.

Should you encounter unexpected illness before your trip, our cancellation policies are extremely flexible. Simply call us at +1 949 272 9281, and we'll issue a gift card matching your payment.
This gift card remains valid for 1 year, providing ample time for you to reschedule. Our rescheduling policy allows changes with a minimum 48-hour notice without fees or penalties for simple accommodations. Rescheduling within 30 days of check-in incurs the full balance payment. For package reservations, notify changes within 15 days, limited to 3 times within the same year of the original booking.
Refunds can be requested within 7 days of booking, unless the booking is made within 30 days of arrival, after the refund period is over, any payments made are non-refundable. Mizata processes the payment of the outstanding balance due; 30 days before arrival, using the same credit card information previously provided. If the total payment has been made, reservations are not applicable to refunds but can be rescheduled.
A regular stay reservation can be rescheduled at any time, with at least 48 hours in advance. There are no fees or penalties for rescheduling a reservation; however, if the rescheduling is done less than 30 days before check-in, the balance of the whole reservation must be paid.
Package reservations rescheduling must be notified within a 15 day notice. Reschedules within the same year of the reservation can be made up to a maximum of 3 times
In El Salvador, the climate is generally tropical with distinct wet and dry seasons. There are two main seasons: the rainy season (winter) and the dry season (summer).
The rainy season typically runs from May to October. During this time, expect higher humidity, frequent rainfall, and lush, green landscapes. Temperatures remain warm, but the rain offers a refreshing break from the heat. In Mizata, winter is considered the best season for experienced surfers thanks to the consistent swells that create ideal surfing conditions. It’s also a wonderful time to focus on on-site and cultural activities, exploring charming mountain towns like Juayúa and Ataco, visiting the historic center of San Salvador, or touring archaeological sites, which often still have visiting days even during the wetter months. Wellness activities like yoga, gym sessions, Temazcal ceremonies, and deep relaxation at the hotel are especially popular in this season, offering a chance to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with yourself.
The dry season spans from November to April. This period is characterized by lower humidity, minimal rainfall, and consistently sunny weather, making it ideal for beach days, outdoor adventures, and tourism. Mizata's coastal location moderates temperatures slightly, and ocean breezes bring a refreshing touch to the warm days.
