Mizata Foundation: June Community Impact Update

June at Mizata was a powerful month of purpose, unity, and impact. The Mizata Foundation brought together community leaders, volunteers, and retreat guests to support meaningful projects that uplift local families, schools, and animals.

Here are the June 2025 highlights from our ongoing community development efforts:

Luna Serenity Retreat & Rural School Library Project

This month, we welcomed Johanna, Cindy, and their guests from the Luna Serenity Retreat, a transformative group whose visit blended service, connection, and conscious travel.

Key impacts from the retreat:

  • $2,000 raised to build a new community library for a rural school in the mountains near Mizata.
  • Guests helped launch the first stages of construction, working alongside local leaders.
  • The library is now stocked with books, pens, paper, and vital educational materials, thanks to additional support from past retreats.

More Contributions from the Luna Serenity Group

  • Sports Uniforms Donation: Custom uniforms gave local students a boost of pride and team spirit.
  • Future Bridge Project: The group expressed interest in supporting a new bridge to improve access for families across the river. Want to get involved? Contact us to learn more.
  • Puppy Yoga & Dog Sanctuary Visit: A heartwarming session at the local dog rescue sanctuary paired yoga with puppies, raising awareness for animal care and adoption.

Welcome Back, Teacher Néstor!

We’re excited to announce the return of Teacher Néstor, who is once again leading our English Academy in Mizata. His work connects local students with retreat guests and provides essential language education, helping bridge cultures and build futures.
