Turtle Fundraiser: Protecting Our Beaches and Wildlife
October marked a month of impact for the Mizata Foundation as we launched our new Turtle Fundraiser, focused on rescuing turtle eggs from poachers and safeguarding hatchlings. We’ve proudly partnered with Giovanni, a dedicated local eco-hero and who has been rescuing eggs from poachers and helping protect turtle nests along Mizata’s coastline for years.
This is just the beginning, we’re now building a larger campaign aimed at eliminating poaching entirely and creating sustainable, community-driven turtle protection programs along our beaches. If you’d like to be involved in a bigger capacity, don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re dreaming of a future where every single egg nested on Mizata’s beach is protected, and we need as much help as possible to make that dream come true.
Why it matters: Every turtle saved is a step toward preserving the delicate balance of our marine ecosystem and protecting Mizata’s natural heritage for future generations.

Water Pump Project: Clean Water for the Community
October also marked a month of impact for our local communities in Mizata. Together with Naughty Gym, we fundraised more than $5,000 to replace the main water pump in Mizata. We are currently in the process of installing and restoring the pump, which will once again provide running water for over 200 families.
In the process, we’ve also identified challenges with several of the other water pumps and wells in Mizata. This discovery has inspired us to work on a larger initiative, mapping out water needs across the region and seeking partnerships with major water organizations next year to improve access for every family in Mizata.
Please reach out if you have ideas for potential alliances or partnerships, or check out our fundraiser to get involved.

Community, Joy & Connection
We kicked off October with a big beach cleanup initiative, in collaboration with Christine Bush, Aqua Vida, & Synergy Retreat, bringing our community and visiting guests together to care for our coastline.
We also celebrated Children's Day with a joyful pool and ice cream party filled with games, laughter, and shared moments. It was a heartwarming day to honor the children of Mizata, a reminder of why our work matters and how community connection fuels everything we do.
Check out our fundraiser for our local school to continue supporting the children who inspire us every day.
