April was an impactful month for our community, with exciting renovations at Texicio School and our first official visit with a retreat group to the Mardoqueo School in El Sunzal.
We are also excited to share that our English Academy is now open Monday to Friday and already has 60 children enrolled. This marks an important step forward in expanding educational opportunities, and we are proud to see such strong engagement from the community.
We warmly welcome María Concepción Lemus Vargas (Mary) as the new head of our English Programme. She brings passion, energy, and a strong commitment to teaching and community engagement. We are thrilled to have her leading this growing initiative.

Texicio School
Throughout April, our efforts were centered on supporting the students and improving the learning environment at Texicio School.
A key highlight was our sports uniform fundraiser, led in collaboration with Jess Rans. Through this initiative, we were able to raise vital funds to support students who would otherwise struggle to afford their sports uniforms, allowing them to fully participate in school activities with confidence and pride.
Thanks to Jessica Rivera and her group, we were also able to install a new gate and a new roof at the school. These improvements significantly enhance both the safety and the overall learning environment for students and staff.
This month’s focus on Texicio School reflects our commitment to making practical, meaningful improvements that directly impact students’ daily lives—both inside and outside the classroom.
Visit to Mardoqueo School
We were also delighted to host a special visit to the Mardoqueo School in El Sunzal with Jody Poulin and her group from Canada. This group has been instrumental in spearheading a fundraiser to provide air conditioning units for the classrooms, helping create a more comfortable and effective learning environment for students.
Their support addresses a critical need, as high temperatures can make it difficult for students to concentrate and fully engage in their lessons. By improving classroom conditions, this initiative will help students learn more efficiently and enjoy a better overall school experience.

We are deeply grateful for their commitment, generosity, and hands-on involvement in supporting our mission.
